July!
The beginning of July had a lot of firsts! Silas went to the stawberry patch and "picked" (also known as "ate") his way through the fields. He also attended his first Crandall reunion, saw his first fireworks (which he loved!), visited Park Street for the first time (Silas Park!), "washed" the windows (or landed in the bucket while Mommy was doing so!), clapped his hands, pulled himself up, climbed upstairs, signed "all-done", played on the playground, and so much more!!

Father's Day!
On Father's Day, Silas surprised J.L. and took him camping at Allegheny State Park. (I say "Silas" because I would never in my right mind choose to go camping!). So, they spent the night enjoying the great outdoors... hiking, campfiring, setting up the tent and grilling...very manly Father's Day-like things....while I kept an eye out for the black bears I was sure would be the end of us all.
Seriously, we had a great time away and Silas loved his first camping experience. I fear there will be many more to come!
Scooter
For a while this summer, Daddy borrowed a friend's scooter because he thought it was ultra cool! Or that he was ultra cool riding it. That is left to be determined! However, Silas loved sitting on it. We would like to take a moment to assure everyone that at no point in time did Silas ever sit on the scooter while in forward or backward motion. There is a limit to our craziness!
Moving Nana and Papa!
The end of May Nana and Papa moved in to a new house in Belmont, NY so Papa could start preaching at his new church. Silas offered his assistance, although he did more talking, eating and sitting around than he did working! Here are a couple of shots of the big moving day, with our favorite of him in the kitchen cupboard!

"Anybody Out There?"
Well, life has kept us from updating this site as much as we would like! If you're still out there, keeping up with us through cyberspace...we appreciate your patience! We have decided to award our committed few with many pictures and even a video or two! (If JL teaches me how to do that!!)
Silas is now much more of a handful...scooting so fast for the very thing that is NOT safe to play with that he keeps us on our toes. So far the laptop has sustained the most damage. The number 8 has been ripped off (who really uses the #8 anyway?!?!?), the memory card was vomited on, and the cord is in a continuous tug of war battle. Ahhh...the joys of parenting!
This weekend Silas took his first spiritual pilgrimage, his first boat ride and his first trip to Pittsburgh while helping to chaperone a Confirmation retreat. That makes Pennsylvania lucky number 17 for states Silas has visited!
Thanks for sticking with us and keeping up on all of the adventures God has led us on! We're happy to have you with us on the journey!

Pilgrimagging!
Here are a couple of our shots from Pittsburgh. We stayed with Uncle Doug and Aunt Kathy, attended their church, rode on the Gateway Clipper, saw the stadiums, had quiet time at a cathedral, and many more things that one never could believe would cram into two days time! So there was not a lot of sleep occurring...Who needs sleep?
